Bevor we proceed with your vision let’s check if the parts so far fit together.
Everythings fit and looks pretty nice. If the planks are a little bit bent you do not need to worry about it. They will be straightend out at a later point.
But for now we can continue. Well, not that fast!
First I like to set up the rocker table. You could also switch this part to a later point, but it needs to be done anyway and we decided to do it inbetween.
What is the rocker table for? It makes the process to glue the bottom and top layer easier because it is a nice stiff support.
We like to cut out a square on the corners of the frames. In those squares a guideline out of Paulownia will be glued. To make those cuts easier, we use a selfmade sled and a clamp to keep the part in place.
With this small clamp your fingers stay save. It’s always important to stay save.
To make the skelton (frames and center rocker) lighter some parts are going to be milled away.
It is always about the weigth, but with respect to not loosing to much stiffness.
My router died after 12 years of good service during this process. It produces shortcuts, so I guess that the coil is done.
So we continue with the good old drill and refining it by hand with a knive.
